Boxing Back with a Bang as Siesta Launches 'Kold Wars' Exclusively on FITE
Mixing talented champions, heavy-handed prospects and road warriors with an appetite for a tear-up, promoter Al Siesta has put together a night of high-quality action. After months of planning, the emphasis remains on competitive, 50-50 fights.
New York, NY, July 21, 2020 -- Siesta Boxing is delighted to announce that KOLD WARS will explode into action, beginning this week, as the competitive contests that viewers have craved for months finally return.
Fight fans will get the chance to witness blood and thunder in a Belarus boxing bubble in evenly-matched contests across multiple weight classes. Starting July 23, Battle 1 will be shown live and exclusively on FITE, the premiere global platform for sports and entertainment.
In a tasty co-main event, ex-world title challenger ISA CHANIEV goes in against former three-time kickboxing world champion VLADYSLAV MELNYK. Ambitious Melnyk is only 21 years old and not afraid to travel, having taken Edgar Walth's unbeaten record in Germany last time out.
Isa Chaniev shares center stage alongside experienced SERGEI GOROKHOV who is aiming to break the will of LEVAN SHONIA. Gorokhov is a reputed puncher and even former world level operator Valery Brudov could not bend the will of this stubborn Russian super-middleweight.
Ukrainian-based Shonia has no problem fighting above his natural weight class and is used to going the distance himself, having extended the likes of Shefat Isufi and Predrag Radosevic over 13 years in the sport.
GAIBATULLA GADZHIALIEV takes on ARTEM AYVAZIDI, an amateur standout who has taken his talents on the road. Gadzhaliev was recently seen going toe-to-toe with Denis Shafikov, eventually pushing the 46-fight veteran to a draw.
A former world level contender, Shafikov enjoyed victories over the likes of Richard Commey and current champion Jamel Herring during a stellar career. Promising Gadzhialiev pushed him all the way.

The Ukrainians really fancy Melnyk's chances against Chaniev. He's lost again since the world title fight against Richard Commey, and they might be getting him at the right time. Melnyk is on the way up - they really wanted this fight. Chaniev is the same, he wanted this young kid, he says he will deal with him no problem. There's a bit of spite there

Shonia and Gorokhov are both tough fighting men, it will be an incredible fight. Gadzhialiev is a fantastic, slick fighter. Just look at his performances.
